All Hallows spent the day with our feeder primary schools on 20 Thursday. The day was to teach the students the importance of shearing sheep and why we do it and also what happens to the wool after.
The students spent the day on the farm and Miss Caffrey taught them how we sheer and they all had the opportunity to use the shears and sheared their own bit of wool of the sheep. Whilst the students were doing this Miss Caffrey explained about why we shear the wool and how it can affect the heath of the sheep if it isn’t done.
After the sheep had been sheared. Judith from ‘wonder of woollies’ showed the students how you spin the wool after it have been sheared.
