Another Successful Year for Students at All Hallows

 

Every year, A level results day is one of nervous anticipation followed by delight, as students receive their long-awaited examination results, and today was no exception at All Hallows Catholic College. It has been a very difficult two years, and with students unable to sit GCSEs in 2021, it has meant that this summer’s exams were their first external assessments. Provisional indicators show that this year’s cohort have, yet again, made excellent progress, with students securing places at some of the country’s top universities and others being successful in securing very competitive apprenticeships with both local and global companies.

 

Principal, Tim Beesley said, ‘We are very pleased with the A level and BTEC results achieved by the whole year group, but more importantly we are delighted with all of the individual achievements and successes. We are very proud of all our young people, especially with the challenges that they have had to face over their time in Sixth Form. I would like to thank all of the teachers and staff for their hard work, dedication and outstanding pastoral care, and our parents and families for their support.’

 

Chair of Governors, Mrs Clair Watson said, ‘I am absolutely thrilled with the results of all of our students and on behalf of the Governors would like to pass on my sincere thanks to their teachers, for the dedication with which they serve our students’.

 

Head of Sixth Form, David Howells, said ‘These results reflect their tremendous energy and commitment to their studies. As a year group they have been superb role-models for the rest of the College, demonstrating outstanding leadership and commitment to making a difference through their volunteer work and Catholic social enterprise projects.  As they move on to the next stage of their lives, they carry with them great values and attitudes.’

 

This year, the highest achieving students include Joseph Reynolds, Daniel Tidsey, Thomas Okill, Jack Burgess, Jasper Plomaritis, Katie Sheader, Lidia Toon, Sam Brereton and Izzy Arch.  Joseph has secured a place at Imperial College London to study Computing (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), and Daniel is going to Warwick University to study Mathematics. Jasper is going to Nottingham University to study Economics. Thomas will be studying Mathematics, Lidia is reading Geography at the University of Bristol, Sam is going to York to study Biochemistry, and Izzy is reading History at the University of Edinburgh. Jack has gained employment and Katie is taking a Gap Year. Head Student, Daniel Franklin, who is taking up his place at Birmingham University to study Geography, said “I am very grateful for all of the support and guidance that I received from All Hallows. These past two years have been incredibly challenging, and I couldn’t have achieved my successes without the help of my amazing teachers”.
