Day One.
Students and staff from All Hallows Catholic College have officially begun their exciting ski trip adventure to Val di Fiemme, Italy—and what a journey it has been!
We set off at approximately 8:15am on Saturday morning, ready to take on the 24+ hour journey ahead. There was a real sense of excitement as everyone boarded the coach, eager for the days to come on the slopes.
By 3:00pm, we arrived at Dover for check-in before boarding our ferry at 4:10pm. The crossing provided a welcome break from the coach, giving students the chance to relax, enjoy some food, and take in the experience of travelling across the sea. We arrived at 7:00pm local time and continued our journey through the evening.
Our final stop of the night came at around 10:00pm at a service station, where students prepared for a night on the coach and picked up breakfast for the next morning. Despite the long day of travel, spirits remained high, and everyone gathered for a festive photo—an excellent way to capture the excitement of the trip.
Most of the group woke at around 7:00am in Germany to a magical sight. As the curtains opened, we were greeted by a true winter wonderland, with snow-covered scenery stretching across the landscape. At that moment, the excitement really began to build as the reality of our ski trip set in.
Our journey continued through the stunning Fern Pass, taking us into the mountains of Austria, where the views became even more breathtaking. By 10:00am, we had crossed into Italy, spotting signs linked to the recent Winter Olympics, which added to the anticipation.
Finally, at 11:30am on Sunday (local time), we arrived in Val di Fiemme. After a long but memorable journey, everyone is thrilled to have reached our destination and is ready to begin what promises to be an unforgettable ski experience.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the trip continues!
