Day Seven - Final Day

As we reached our final day on the slopes, we also marked Good Friday, and we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone back home a peaceful and happy Easter period.

Today saw us return to where it all began—Alpe Cermis. Travelling up from the town of Cavalese via the gondola, there was a real sense of excitement (and a little bit of sadness) knowing it was our last day skiing.

The morning routine looked slightly different today. After a quick grab-and-go breakfast, we made use of the local public bus service to reach the resort, allowing our coach drivers a well-earned rest ahead of the long journey home.

Conditions on the slopes were absolutely perfect. The sun was shining brightly, there was no wind, and despite the warmth, the snow remained in great condition—especially higher up the mountain—making for an ideal final day of skiing.

All groups made the most of their last opportunity on the slopes:

Group 1 headed straight off-piste, doing what they enjoy most—showcasing their skills with jumps and technical skiing.

Groups 2 and 3 explored more of Alpe Cermis, taking on more challenging red runs and discovering areas they hadn’t been able to access earlier in the week, thanks to their improved ability.

Groups 4 and 5 also embraced the chance to explore, completing longer runs across the mountain—some stretching over 5km—an incredible achievement and a true reflection of their progress.

We opted for a slightly later lunch to make the most of the excellent skiing conditions, and once again enjoyed some fantastic pizza and pasta on the mountain.

To round off the afternoon, we made our way to the very top of the mountain for a full group photo with all students, staff, and instructors—a special moment to capture the end of an unforgettable trip. From there, we all skied down the mountain together, a memorable and fitting way to finish our time on the slopes.

Returning to the hotel, it was a quick turnaround to shower, change, and prepare for our journey home. This time, we will be travelling back via Dunkirk for our ferry crossing.

Before we depart, all students and staff would like to extend a huge thank you to Mr Lawson for organising such an incredible and memorable trip.

As a token of appreciation, students presented him with a special helmet cover to wear on the final day—something that is fast becoming an All Hallows Catholic College ski trip tradition!

All that’s left to say now is… Ciao for now!
