Day Five
The students are really getting into the rhythm of ski trip life now—up early, enjoying a hearty breakfast, and heading out full of energy for another exciting day on the slopes.
Today we returned to Latemar, Pampeago, a resort that has proven to be perfect for developing skills and building confidence. The weather remained cold, but thankfully the strong breeze from yesterday had eased. With the sun breaking through the morning clouds, visibility was once again excellent—ideal skiing conditions.
Each group continued to make fantastic progress:
Group 1 pushed themselves further, working on speed and beginning to develop carving techniques. They covered a huge amount of distance and explored more of the mountain.
Groups 2 and 3 continued to thrive, confidently tackling runs across the resort and covering plenty of ground as they explored the slopes.
Groups 4 and 5 showed just how far they’ve come, stepping up onto more challenging terrain and successfully skiing blue runs around the mountain—an incredible achievement after just a few days.
After a lunch stop on the mountain, where students enjoyed pasta or chicken nuggets and chips, the afternoon brought one of the highlights of the trip so far—the slalom races. Every single student (and staff members!) took part, racing down the course one by one while being timed by the ski instructors.
The atmosphere was full of excitement and a little bit of tension, with everyone now eagerly awaiting the results, which will be revealed at tomorrow’s presentation.
It was fantastic to see all 51 students skiing together, as well as enjoying some well-earned free ski time in their friendship groups.
Following a full day on the slopes, the group headed to a local rock climbing centre, where students took part in both climbing and bouldering activities—burning off even more energy!
After such an action-packed day, it’s time for a good refuel this evening and an early night, as we prepare for the penultimate day of skiing tomorrow.
The progress, energy, and enthusiasm from all students continues to impress—another brilliant day!
