Day Three
Today marked our first full day of skiing, and what a fantastic start it was! We headed to Cermis Mountain in the beautiful Dolomites, ready to hit the slopes.
It was an early start, with a 6:30am wake-up call followed by breakfast at 7:15am. By 8:00am we were on the bus, arriving at the slopes and ready to ski by 9:00am. From the village, we took a gondola up to halfway up the mountain before splitting into our ski groups.
Each group made brilliant progress throughout the day. The advanced group wasted no time heading higher up the mountain, tackling a mix of blue and red runs, and even trying a little off-piste skiing. The intermediate group began on the beginner slope to build confidence, before moving up to a blue run and finishing the morning with an impressive red run before lunch. Meanwhile, our beginners focused on learning the fundamentals, mastering the classic “pizza” position and building their confidence on the slopes.
We stopped for lunch at 12:00pm, halfway up the mountain, giving everyone a chance to refuel and take in the stunning surroundings. In the afternoon, it was back to skiing until 3:00pm. The weather shifted slightly from the clear blue skies of the morning to more overcast and windy conditions, but that didn’t dampen spirits.
It truly was a fantastic first day on the slopes. There was plenty of learning, lots of “pizza,” and of course a few falls along the way—but most importantly, a great time was had by all.
This evening, we’re looking forward to some well-earned rest, a delicious meal at the hotel, and a quiz night for a bit of fun and friendly competition.
Grazie!
